Enrollment Process
Admittance
Discovery Place admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies and other school-administered programs.
Ages
Discovery Place enrolls children 22 months- 6 years of age. For Half Day Preschool, children must be at 22 months by the start of the school year. For All Day Preschool, children must be at least two years of age by the start of the school year.
New Students- How to Apply
Applications
Applications from new parents may be made at any time by completing an application form and indicating anticipated starting date. There is no fee to send in your application. We will contact you upon receipt of your application (if it is for the current school year) and let you know what openings we may have.
Each new school year begins the end of August and runs through the end of May. Students will be enrolled to begin in the Fall each year, or as vacancies become available throughout the year. Students can also enroll for our Summer Program, which begins the first week of June.
Enrollment Process
Before your child may attend school, return the following returned to our office:
- A completed enrollment form (both sides of form filled out completely) and the form must be signed by both parents which indicates compliance with Policies and Procedures as stated in our Handbook
- A completed health form including shot records and a record of a physical signed by the doctor
- $65 non-refundable enrollment fee (cash or check)
Current Students
The following is a yearly time-line of Enrollment Procedures for the School Year which begins end of August - May:
- Early February - Fall Pre-Enrollment forms are given to current students
- Late February - Fall Pre-Enrollment forms are due back from current students and their siblings. Then, any vacancies are offered to persons on our waiting list.
- Late March - Fall Enrollment Forms/Information goes out to all enrollees
- Early April - Summer Enrollment Brochure and Enrollment forms go out
- April 15 - Fall Enrollment Form & Enrollment Fee ($65.00) due from all parents
- Mid May - Summer Enrollment Confirmation sent out from our Office
- June 1 - Annual Health Forms due for all children
