Discovery Place has enriched the lives of more than 5,000 children while providing the highest quality early childhood program for families in our community.  Discovery Place now needs a new home to continue its work and to further develop its innovative and valuable approach to learning.

Discovery Place Board of Directors, Project Advisory Committee and Staff have developed a plan to allow Discovery Place to secure a permanent facility of its own by August 2008.  The facility and grounds will support a strong emphasis in the arts, nature and health.  This 2.8 million dollar project will allow Discovery Place to continue to offer excellent care and learning opportunities for children. 

The 20,000 square foot building will house eleven classrooms, an art studio, theatre and children’s kitchen/science lab.  The outdoor environment will  include a garden and nature area.  The site is being designed to reflect the innovative architecture of the world-renown preschools in Reggio Emilia,Italy.  These building designs reflect respect for children and reinforce strong relationships among families and community.

The financial need is immediate. Discovery Place must relocate from its location at The Independent School very soon.  Please help Discovery Place continue serving our community’s most valuable resource—our children.  We invite you to be a part of the Journey.
